Despite our best efforts, there are times when we all feel at a loss to understand and get along with our children.  After all being a parent is one of the most challenging and life changing roles we will ever have. And it is an impossible job to do perfectly.  Much of parenting is truly trial and error.  So It is no wonder as parents we often feel confused and overwhelmed. Drawing from my 20 years of experience as a parent educator, counselor and psychotherapist, and parent myself, I have created a highly interactive and skill-based approach to parent coaching that is customized to meet your specific needs and concerns.

Beginning with a 50 minute parent intake session, we discuss pertinent background history as well as the specific parenting struggles you are experiencing. Sometimes this process is aided by my doing a home observation or engaging in some in-session role play so I can really get a sense of the family patterns and related needs.

Next I provide pertinent information on development, temperament, co-regulation and family systems. And from there we tailor and practice new response patterns for you to use at home.
